The Sun Inn Bentworth
The Vagabonds Favouite Pub
Located down a narrow lane on the village edge, this delightful, flower-adorned 17th-century pub, originally two cottages, has three interconnecting rooms, each with open log fires, brick or boarded floors, low-beamed ceilings, and lots of old pews, settles and scrubbed pine tables. A thriving free house it offers eight real ales and a traditional pub atmosphere. It is particularly cosy and inviting in the evenings when candles top the tables. Food is equally traditional; expect filled giant Yorkshire puddings, bacon, mushroom and tomato pasta salad, cheesy haddock bake, liver and bacon with creamy mash and braised steak in red wine and mushroom sauce, alongside Mediterranean lamb and venison in Guinness and pickled walnuts.
